the bird watchers, updated for "animals altered" exhibit

I recently reworked two of my larger Splotch Monster pieces for the group exhibit in Takoma Park, Maryland, in July. The first one, originally called “Bird Watchers 2”, is simply called “The Bird Watchers”. Since I’ll be including most, if not all the works from the Endangered Kingdom Meets Splotch Monster Island series, I decided to add five endangered bird species to this one, including, from left to right, the Golden Cheeked Warbler, the Piping Plover, the Kirtland’s Warbler, Giant Ibis, and Whooping Crane. Tomorrow I’ll post the second reworked Splotch Monster piece. In the meantime, the exhibit “Animals Altered” will have its opening reception on Thursday, July 12 at the Takoma Park Community Center, and will feature my work and the work of several other amazing artists who live and work in and around the DC area.
