mail me art short & sweet (the little chimp society) out now!

Finally, I've got internet connection after a few days of moving into our new home. We're far from getting settled, as the quest to unload boxes of stuff and move and organize said stuff into their proper places continues.  I have to admit that a good portion of the stuff consists of our books. It's funny,'cause on the day I told Kris that we might need to scale back on the book-buying, a brand new one arrived in the mail, adding yet another to the collection.  Oh well.

The book happens to be the third installment of the Mail Me Art series, run by Darren Di Lieto, who is also the founder of the wonderful art and illustration site, The Little Chimp Society. The title and theme of this one is "Short & Sweet", and the artists involved, as well as Darren certainly delivered! It was nice getting this book after four days straight of moving (we decided to do it ourselves - bad idea), and Kris and I had a ball looking through the pages and taking in the amazing artwork during an evening of some much needed rest and recovery.

There is such a wide variety of great, quality art and illustrative work in the book, and I was glad to see some of the artists I've recently been following over the years have work in there as well. You can even find my submission (below), with a little interview in the book too!

As for the art opening at the Framers Gallery in London, it ended last week. Good news is there was a nice turnout and Darren posted some photos from the show HERE, if you're interested.  Sales from original art will benefit organizations such as Animal Aid, Water Aid, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. There will be some more Mail Me Art Short & Sweet exhibits taking place in England soon, including one at the Factoryroad Gallery in Hinckley from August 9th - August 12th, then at the Croft Wingates Art Gallery starting August 17th.  The next Mail Me Art project is already underway, with the theme "Open All Hours". If you're interested, check out the Mail Me Art site to get involved!
